Christian Fleiss
The expert chef and nature lover
Combine the down-to-earth nature of a Salzburg native with a dash of Mediterranean charm and you have Christian Fleiss. The talented young cook with roots in the Alps and extensive international work experience completes the WIBERG Team Inspiration. In addition to his creative talent and cheerful manner, Mother Nature has endowed him with a passion for cooking which suits him down to the ground. On the subject of nature – Christian Fleiss has a particular affinity to it. With the certainty that nature showers its gifts on us anew every day, he is always looking for natural sources of strength. As is often the case in this business, life for the Team Inspirateur also began with an apprenticeship. He learnt the basics in "Hotel Sheraton" in Salzburg. Even then he was reaching for the stars and managed to win the top award in the competition for apprentice-chefs entitled "Goldener Kochlöffel". Spurred on by this success, he decided to move abroad. Before leaving the country however, he worked at the renowned gourmet restaurant "Restaurant Steirereck" in Vienna and other well-known enterprises in Austria before he lost his heart to the south of Europe. After a few jobs in Spain, he ended up in a country renowned for its "dolce vita" where the people have such a spirited zest for life. He worked as chef de cuisine in "Restaurant Carleni", which is regarded as one of the best restaurants in Umbria and not only by insiders. And things didn't stop there – in Bella Italia, he also made a name for himself as a culinary organiser of numerous cooking courses and events.
With his considerable abilities and cheerful nature, he has been a valuable member of the WIBERG Team Inspiration since spring 2009. Christian Fleiss likes to spend his free time in the open air relaxing with his fishing hook or tending his (vegetable) garden at home.
