Marcel Thiele
The ambitious perfectionist
Still young yet rich in experience and blessed with unbelievable potential – that's Marcel Thiele in a nutshell. On his steep climb to the top, he has now stopped off at WIBERG Team Inspiration. What particularly distinguishes him apart from his analytical mind and open manner is his enthusiasm for travelling and his savoir vivre. He has visited a total of 48 countries in four continents, from Halifax via Cape Town to Buenos Aires – that surely speaks for itself.
But let's start at the beginning. Marcel Thiele grew up in a culinary atmosphere as his family owned a restaurant. He then began his extensive training in the restaurant "Gastmahl des Meeres" in Rostock. Military service came next and he was sent all round the world. International operations with the marines took him from the Caribbean, via Madagascar to Norway. When he had finished serving the fatherland, Marcel Thiele returned to his real passion: cooking. He had jobs in a string of well-known restaurants, such as "Brauerei-Gasthof & Hotel Post" in Nesselwang, the "Hotel Malerwinkel" in Seebruck, the "Dorint Parkhotel Chemnitz", the "Busmann´s" and the "Borowski" in Dresden. In passing, the young creative talent attained the title "Certified Master Chef" at the tender age of 24, held an honorary post as Chairman of the Examining Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Dresden and lectured on specific food science and exotic fruit and vegetable studies in business colleges.
Outside the kitchen, Thiele has a passion for international culture and brawny muscle cars.
