WIBERG History
1947
18 February, WIBERG KG founded by Wilhelm Bergerand Dr Helene Berger in Stuhlfelden/Oberpinzgau, Austria. The company’s
focus is on offering sausage producers ready-to-use seasonings with consistent
flavour quality.
1954
WIBERG relocates to Salzburg, Nonntaler Hauptstrasse 55.1962
A second branch is opened in Freilassing, Germany, for the EC area.1973
The company starts selling gastronomy seasonings in Austria.1977
Production (binding, shirring & printing) of sausage casing begins –foundation for packaging solutions as part of the overall WIBERG range of services.
1977/78
Current building at A.-Schemel-Strasse 9 in Salzburgbuilt and expanded; headquarters transferred to new site.
1981
Company founder Wilhelm Berger dies. His daughter,Helga Winkler-Berger, takes over WIBERG management.
1983/84
A new company building is erected in Freilassing, Germany, at Eichendorffstrasse 25.1987
WIBERG branches out to North America and founds WIBERG Corporation in Toronto,Canada, which is expanded and relocated to Oakville, Ontario in 1996.
1994
The WIBERG quality management system is certified in compliance with ISO 9001. 1996
WIBERG Corporation headquarters moves tonew site in Oakville, Ontario.
1997
WIBERG celebrates its 50th anniversary and expands its Salzburg office into its
company headquarters.
1998
Marcus Winkler joins the company.2001
Marcus Winkler assumes corporate management responsibilities in the third generation:"My goal is to develop WIBERG into the leading international supplier of
flavour and enjoyment for food producers and restaurateurs."
2001
New branches are opened in Los Angeles and Barcelona that same year.2005
Construction begins on new production facilities in Freilassing.Headquarters remain at the Salzburg home office.
