Microbiological Testing

In line with the German Protection Against Infection Act, we are licensed to test pathogenic micro-organisms in our microbiological lab; this lab is equipped for a versatile range of activities.

We do not use these facilities solely for the sake of our own product safety – we also offer the following as a customer service:

  • General microbiological testing and evaluation of foodstuffs, especially meat and sausage products
  • Testing in line with official analysis methods according to §64 LFGB (German Foodstuffs and Commodities Act)
  • Detection and differentiation of bacteria, yeasts and moulds
  • Testing for special pathogenic germs such as Salmonella, Listeria, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Clostridia
  • Determination of the root cause or performance of a flora analysis in the case of deficient products, a failure to mature or shelf life problems
  • Company hygiene testing (e.g. wipe tests, air bacterial counts, periodic checks)
  • Implementation of storage location tests and shelf life tests
  • Sensory evaluation of the sample, if required
  • Notification of findings via fax, if required


Rapid and reliable diagnoses facilitate the timely discovery of causes or sources of contamination. This makes it easier to implement preventive measures and to tackle operational disadvantages or legal ramifications.
